Our Vineyard.
The vineyard at Tyringham hall is overlooked by a stunning Grade I listed English stately home. The Neo-classical villa designed for William Praed, chairman of Grand junction canal company and partner in the bank Praed & Co, was built by John Soane in 1792.
The Vineyard, lying in the walled garden was planted in 2008, currently, the vines are 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier. The first harvest of these vines in 2012 produced a lovely light sparkling wine and with each passing year, the vines produce an even more impressive grape.
English wine production started in the 1970s as it was realised that the soil and geology of the land are well suited to produce outstanding vines. There are nearly 500 vineyards in England as English wine grows in popularity, we hope you enjoy Tyringham Halls’s exquisite offering…
